What's the Deal
with Density
There is a common misconception out there that density is
the only factor in determining the quality of foam. This statement is not
entirely accurate, however. Density is only part of what makes memory foam
feel good. Density is the primary factor in the longevity of the foam, not
the feel. For example, Our 5lb foam should last 20+ years under
normal use, without breaking down or leaving a permanent impression. 4lb
should last 10+ years. Our Impressions® Topper feels just like the ones
sold in the mall. This feel is what everyone is trying to duplicate, we've
got it. - Tempur-Pedic® for comparison is a 5.3 Density
Foam.
Which Thickness
Should I Buy?
We get asked this question many times,
so here's a quick guide:
- 2 inch - We recommend 2 inches for stomach-sleepers,
or those who just want to "soften up" a fairly comfortable bed.
With this thickness, you will still feel a lot of what is underneath,
so you wouldn't want to put only 2 inches on a super-firm mattress, for
example.
- 3 inch 3 inches is our most popular thickness. We
recommend no less than 3 inches for side-sleepers, because when you sleep
on your side, you intensify the pressure points on your hip, shoulders
and other joints. Side-sleepers need a thicker pad to relieve this pressure,
and conform to the natural curve of your body. Also suitable for back-sleepers.
- 4 inches - 4 inches is enough foam to totally transform
your sleep surface. You will feel mostly the foam, and very little of
what's underneath. Recommended for side- and back-sleepers, or those who
want the feel of a foam bed without the cost.
