What is Latex?
Environmentally sound Natural Latex Rubber Sheeting is manufactured from the latex naturally produced by the rubber tree Hevea Brasiliensis. The latex is obtained by tapping the tree over a period of several years, a process which does not harm the tree. An entirely natural product results, which has outstanding resilient and elastic properties. Renewable resource Natural Rubber is a fully renewable resource coming from a tropical tree grown in plantations accounting for 8.5 million hectares of the world's tropical forests. After its useful Latex producing life, timber from the rubber tree is used for the manufacture of furniture and flooring. Natural Latex Rubber products slowly degrade, completely, so that when eventually disposed of Natural Latex Rubber will not permanently harm the environment.

Why do we use it?
Every time you move, twist or turn in your sleep, your Latex mattress quickly responds by adjusting itself to your new position. Hence, your body remains in a constant state of relaxation and comfort. Movement on any side of the mattress does not result in any movement on the other side, so no one is disturbed by any unwanted motion. It prevents 'roll together', a normal complaint if one sleeper weighs more than the other.

What's so special about 100% Natural Latex?
Our product is pure latex manufactured solely from natural rubber. Latex belongs to the species, Hevea Brazilensis, which is cultivated on a large scale in Malaysia through a planned programme of replanting, thereby ensuring a sustainable supply of natural latex from a green environment. The polymeric content in our mattresses is derived exclusively from pure, super-clean and unadulterated natural rubber latex from the trees. Only natural rubber latex of the highest quality and purity is used. No synthetic latex or 'cocktail' is added.

Our latex is a natural product manufactured from the fusion of renewable natural resources in harmony with scientific innovation utilising the latest state-of-the-art technology and know how. The product is biodegradable and environmentally friendly. No fillers or any additives are added thereby retaining the intrinsic green strength of natural latex. Foam from other manufacturers typically contains up to 30% inert filler and it is not uncommon to reduce production costs at the expense of quality, durability and sleeping comfort.

Some manufacturers using the "Talalay" process incorporate very unconventional chemical processes to synthesise a product derived from petroleum, coal, oil, natural gasses or acetylene. Ours is a natural and environmentally friendly sustainable product. Right through mini pin core cavitied mono-block without lamination to a thickness of 15cm is achieved. Such a unique configuration reduces body intersurface contact and promotes maximum natural ventilation which is so very necessary for sleeping comfort.

Our latex comprises a network of millions of ultra micro-cellular structures distributed homogeneously across the whole block, made possible by using the latest microvent technology. This attribute further promotes natural breathing, gives good initial contact feel and longer product durability. Natural Latex has been orthopaedically designed to have posture zones catering for optimal posture and lumbar support. This together with the complete absence of local high pressure spots gives total muscle relaxation of the body and healthy rest. The excellent dynamic properties synergised by the presence of the multi-million ultra fine interconnected open-cells enables the foam to follow the body contour and respond with the right support pressure to the weight of each part of the body.

The product is hygienic, hypoallergenic, dust free, contaminant free and non toxic. The intrinsic colour of natural rubber is retained. Its superb flexibility and resilience characteristics at any degree of hardness makes it an ideal match for use in adjustable beds.

Latex is porous throughout. As the user's movements depress and release the material, air is circulated and thus the mattress is air-cooled during use. Latex is not hot. It is warmer in winter and cooler in the summer than other materials used for mattress making. Latex is only slightly effected by high humidity. It never appreciably absorbs dampness from the atmosphere. As air is circulated through the latex, body moisture is effectively dissipated.

Latex and Allergies

In the late 1990’s, latex allergies became a topic of concern. Publicity revolved around a very small portion of the public exposed to a protein found in natural rubber latex that caused severe allergic reactions. The majority of these cases involved health-care workers who came in frequent contact with medical products made using a dipped vulcanization product, often produced in third world countries that do not have the stringent GMP manufacturing codes employed in the United States.

Complaints for allergic reactions to natural rubber latex are monitored by the FDA. To our knowledge, there has never been a single complaint over more than 28 years of experience stemming from the natural rubber found in our mattresses and pillows.

Our products have been tested by outside facilities and are shown to be inherently hypoallergenic for sufferers of mold, mildew or bacterial allergies. In addition, our mattress and pillows are resistant to dust mites and are naturally resistant to mold and mildew which are contributors to asthma and pulmonary function allergies.

Our $100,000.00 German Engineered Roll Pack Machine Saves you Money and Headaches! All of our 100% Natural Latex Mattresses are pressure rolled into a UPSable Box. This eliminates the need for us to freight the mattress to you which reduces freight damage commonly caused by forklifts. As you can see from the pictures of our factory on the left, all of our mattresses will have a triple barrier protection. The Fabric Layer protects the latex foam and allows it to slide easily into the triple ply plastic bag. The latex mattress is then sealed shut and inserted into a double corrugated cardboard box.

Upon receiving the bed, it is easily removed from the box. We recommend two people, one to pull the mattress out, another to hold the box, and to assist in mattress placement. After opening the bag (don't use a knife!) the bed returns to its original factory state within 45 minutes, without any harm whatsoever to the bed.
